Recently we just went to Kranji Farm with Becton Dickinson Medical Company (BD) for volunteerism.
We went to meet up the BD company volunteers to fetch the Jurong Family Service Centre children & took company transport bus to Kranji Farm.
Firstly, we to a Goat Farm. We started by taking pictures of the shepard who was explaining all about goat's milk and how they milk the goat. There were some free time for us to tour the farm and to have a better viewed of goat. We were also allowed to feed the goat. There were some free sample bottles of goat's milk given to all the children and volunteers.
Secondly, we followed the BD companines transport bus to the frog farm. There were alot of frogs there, including fishes like snakeheads & tilapia. There's a farm guide teaching us how to differeniate the male and the female frogs.
Up next, we went to Uncle William's vegetable farm. There were herbs, vegetables & more vegetables.The farm guide also showed us the peanut plant. There were also veggies & herbs in packets waiting to be sold too.
There were also some quizzes for the FSC children to answer; questions related to the farm trip.
After all the farm visits, we went to Choa Chu Kang farmart to celebrate the birthdays for all November babies of FSC children. There were around 3 to 5 children's birthday.The birthday was fun and the children were enjoying themself.
Last but not least, was the prize giving for the winners that scored for the top 3. There were also prizes for all the volunteers that helped up for the whole event.
Lastly, a group photo was taken. After photo taking, BD's volunteer sent all the children from FSC back to their centre.
